After two years of exploration and learning, as as part of the work to successfully implement the state’s updated standards, we are excited to announce that Californians Dedicated to Education Foundation is working with Declara, in partnership with the California Department of Education, to launch Collaboration in Common (CiC), California’s new collaboration, professional learning, and resource sharing platform. CiC represents the next phase of California’s remodeling project to improve our K-12 public education system.
You can learn more about CiC and California’s participation in the U.S. DOE’s #GoOpen Initiative, which CiC helps make possible, in the State Superintendent of Public Instruction’s press release.
Declara was selected based on their experience supporting implementation of Australia’s national standards on its Scootle Community. Declara’s selection is featured on Business Wire, and has been reported on by EdSurge, THE Journal, and La Educación.
Currently, we are seeking early adopters to both benefit from and help shape the platform in Phase One. If you believe that your organization could benefit from collaboration on this new platform, please let us know.
The site will be fully life in late September or early October.
This was envisioned early on in the Common Core Communications work. As such, many organizations played a key role in helping us understand what educators need to be successful in the classroom. Ongoing support and feedback will be critical as we work to ensure this platform is useful now and in the future.
