California teachers, counselors, and administrators are invited to join the Summer of CS Virtual Kick-Off event on June 6th from 4-6 pm to celebrate equity-minded computer science (CS) education. Bring a team and expand the vision for CS education in your class, school, district or county!
I
During the Summer of CS Virtual Kick-Off event, you will have opportunities to learn from and with other teachers, counselors, and administrators that are implementing the California K-12 Computer Science Standards. Additionally, you will hear from students, high-profile keynote speakers, experts in the field, and teacher leaders from across California in dynamic and engaging virtual sessions. During the Summer of CS Professional Learning Week of June 13th, teachers, counselors, and administrators from across California will convene virtually for a concentrated week-long immersion in computer science professional learning.
I
The Summer of CS conference will feature intensive, in-person training designed to help teachers – working in all subjects – learn to infuse computer science into their courses. The concurrent series of computer science workshops are aligned with each grade band of the California K-12 Computer Science Standards. In addition to professional learning for teachers, the Summer of CS offers workshops for administrators and counselors intended to support your plans for equity-minded implementation and student guidance, respectively. Computer science education can help students develop higher-level thinking skills and interpersonal skills such as collaboration and communication to better prepare them for success in all areas of study. It also provides students with valuable skills employers want and need: problem-solving and analytical skills, teamwork, and a capacity for attending to both the critical details and the big picture. Those interested in attending may visit the 2022 Summer of CS website.

There is no cost to participate. Space is limited so be sure to register today! View additional information on the 2022 Sumer of CS Flyer.
