About
The This is Common Core California Showcase is an endeavor to collect photos, descriptions, videos, student work, and testimonials that demonstrate what Common Core looks like for California’s students in their classrooms, schools, and homes. This content will be reviewed and compiled into an online platform so it can be shared across the state.
There is no better way to understand the Common Core than to see it in action. The Showcase not only provides the general public with a fuller understanding of what Common Core is and why it is critical for California’s students, but it also provides the opportunity for sharing great examples among all who work in support of our students’ success. All submissions will be entered into a random drawing for prizes, which will be provided by the Californians Dedicated to Education Foundation. Small prizes will also be given to early entries, while supplies last.
Questions? Please contact CDE Foundation Communications Manager Neetu Balram at neetu@cdefoundation.org.
Submission Criteria
Submissions should support the broad purpose of the Showcase by demonstrating the positive impact of Common Core on students across the state.
Submissions must include a brief description of how the submission material demonstrates Common Core.

- Participants: All participants must have permission to post the materials they submit to the showcase. Participants can be teachers, administrators, parents or guardians, students, school board members, or anyone implementing and working with the Common Core. Participants must include a mailing address and contact information in order to be eligible for a prize.
- Photos: All photos must be accompanied by a description of how the photo relates to Common Core. Please upload photos in PNG, JPEG, or GIF formats.
- Video: Videos must be accompanied by a description of how the video relates to Common Core and should be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, or Vid.me (no account required). The submission form includes a place to paste the video sharing link.

- All Other Artifacts: Other artifacts will be accepted if they meet the general requirements outlined for the showcase and for participants. This includes, but is not limited to: Lesson plans, meeting minutes and/or agendas, implementation plans, and professional learning materials.
