STEM Blueprint

Innovate, the STEM Blueprint for California was developed by the California STEM Task Force, which was convened by California State Superintendent of Public Instruction (SSPI) Tom Torlakson and Assemblywoman Susan Bonilla. The Task Force was charged with drafting a new vision and direction for STEM education in the state. Its members were teachers and administrators from K-12 and higher education as well as leaders of partner organizations.

The Task Force Identified 6 Key Areas of Action:

  • Public Awareness
  • Resources
  • Access
  • Framework
  • Assessment and Accountability
  • Availability of High-Quality Resources

CDE Foundation thanks the James Irvine Foundation for supporting the development of the STEM Blueprint.
