Working with the Consortium for Educational Change (CEC) and faculty from Rutgers University, the Californians Dedicated to Education Foundation (CDEF) is pleased to offer a series of trainings to support schools and districts engaged in labor management collaboration work by expert facilitators.
This Labor-Management Collaboration training is for all Labor Management Initiative teams to build knowledge and capacity for collaboration in our school systems. The training is designed to support and expand strong collaborative relationships focused on improving professional practices to deepen student learning. The training series includes three training sessions over 5 days.

The orientation session is intended to provide an overview of a systemic approach to develop a culture of collaboration among school, district and union leadership focused on deepening student learning.
This two-day session enables teams to jointly determine priority goals and authentic ways to monitor and share progress, using Michael Fullan’s Coherence Framework. In addition, teams will examine the purpose of School Leadership/Learning Teams, membership criteria and collaborative decision-making tools that promote team effectiveness.
This two-day session focuses on the purpose, roles, responsibilities and alignment of the School Leadership Team, District Leadership Team and Collaboration Teams in a listening-learning organization.
This one-day session provides an opportunity for teams to develop and refine their own plans toward establishing and strengthening collaborative, reflective leadership structures, processes, goals and indicators in schools and districts focused on improving professional practices and deepening student voice.
The cost for each person to attend a full three-session (5-day) training series is $60.
